It seems that at least once a year the UK gets some snow. On the one hand it allows me to identify tracks of the wildlife traveling through my garden, while on the other it quickly gets compacted and turns to ice. It is at that point that I normally find my feet struggling to find grip and end up on the floor hoping that no one witnessed what happened.
I had seen Yaktrax online and on TV for a few years, I found information on what size to get sketchy and even when I saw these in the store I got differing advise from two different members of sales staff. I was able to try them on and that sealed the deal, I then realised I might have to wait a while before trying them out for want they were intended for.
Made from abrasion resistant steel coils around a polyelastomer frame Yaktrax gives you 360 degrees of traction on packed snow and ice.
As I have now had the chance to try these out on show and ice I am very impressed with how they perform, I wonder how many fewer snow/ice related injuries would be treated in our hospitals if more people used these when conditions required it? Easy to put on over your footwear, everyone should have a pair. I give them a 10 out of 10.
